The Quintessence Foundation relies on conributions from individuals who wish to support our goal of greater breastfeeding education. We abide by the World Health Organization Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and do not accept funding from sources associated with the marketing of breastmilk substitutes.

With the death in July 2001 of Dr Wong, a Board member of the Quintessence Foundation, a memorial fund was established within the Foundation. Dr Wong, having worked with UNICEF overseas and in North America for over thirty years, was a tireless advocate for children. He believed that all children, no matter where they are born, deserved the best start possible - mother's milk. To accomplish this goal, he worked to promote, protect and support breastfeeding through the "Baby-Friendly Initiative". All contributions to this fund will be used to fund educational lectures to assist hospitals and communities in British Columbia to achieve best practices in providing maternal and childcare. The Quintessence Board has made a donation to the fund to enable ongoing lectures to be offered.
