Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA)

The ABA was founded in 1964 as the Nursing Mothers Association of Australia to promote breastfeeding and give support to women. ABA counsellors give advice on commenproblems. The ABA also sells a comprehensive range of pamphlets, books, videos, clothing and bresatfeeding equipment.

A non profit organization which works within a global network to strengthen independent effective controls on the baby feeding industry marketing.

The Breastfeeding Committee for Canada is the national authority for the Baby-Friendly Initiative in Canada. Their website provides information and leaflets on the Baby-Friendly Initiative in Canada.

Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA)

The Human Milk Banking Association was established in 1985 to create standards for donor pmilk bank operations and governmental agencies. HMBANA provides information on all aspects of donor milk banking to health professionals and the public.

IBFAN (International Baby Food Action Network)

Infact Canada (IBFAN North America)

INFACT Canada is a non-governmental non-profit organization working to improve health and well being of infants and young children through protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding. La Leche League International was founded in 1956 and has mother to mother as its mandate. The website features extensive information and resources on breastfeeding. A yearly conference is also offered.

This web site for the UK Baby-Friendly provides extensive information on the specifics of the BFI and application in Britain. There are resources and useful links provided.

The United Kingdom Association for Milk Banking is the national aassociation of milk banks Britain similar to Hmbana. They set and review standards, promote milk banking and provide a forum for milk banking information.

UNICEF was founded to focus on the need of children Their site contains extensive information on the many UNICEF prgrams.

WABA (World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action)

WABA is a global network of organizations and individuals who believe breastfeeding is the right of all mothers and children. They work to promote, protect and support this right by acting on the Innocenti Declaration. Their website includes a children’s site and global initiatives.
